We met a Dutch Lancia restorer, "Franke Lancia" in Wassenaar, near Den Haag. We first discovered them in 1993, driving through the area, and then made a point of popping in on subsequent visits.

The Flaminia in the picture has an interesting history......it belonged to the late Dave van Schoor who retired in Hermanus. The car was on show in Cape Town, and you can imagine my surprise when I found it in the showroom in Holland!

Mr.Franke did some essential chassis work and had it up for sale at something like 20 000 Euros, but that was around 10 years ago. We last visited him just over 2 yrs ago and it was still there...including the Hermanus number plates in the boot!

The classic Lancia pictures will soon be published ...taken at the (then) "Rosso Bianco" museum in Aschaffenburg Germany. This was a fantastic private collection of mostly Italian cars. The entire collection was subsequently sold to Holland, but I've lost track of it.

The Thesis pics were taken at a dealer in Vienna 4 years ago....a wonderful luxury motorcar. One can only wish that the top Lancias will eventually come back to SA. In the meanwhile the Kappa is doing just fine, thank you very much!
