May 2010 Social Meeting

A small group of Loyal Club members met up for a braai at the beautiful Hillcrest Wine farm in Durbanville.  The weather was awesome and so was the conversation.  It would be nice however if more mebers could make the effort to support these evnets as after all it is your club!

April  2010 Garage Meeting

Waheed created the highlight of the day when he arrived with his newly painted Fulvia S2. He was nervous as to the possible response from the "purists" who he felt might not approve of his colour scheme.  He needn't have worried as his modern approach to the finishes on his car has definitely transported the Fulvia into the 21st century.  A bright electric blue paint job, blacked out grill, and crystal headlights sets the stage for the final stage of refitting the interior in cream leather.  We look forward to seeing the car with its new interior.

Still needing some parts to finish the job

John Harvey was also hard at work, looking for oil leak/clutch problem on his Flavia

.

and replacing newly made door handle on his Delta.  (we now have the mould for these door handles which fit all Beta's, Monte's and Delta's)

Nic came up to scour for some parts for his "in progress" restoration on his daily transport

Mike Smith decided that his oil leak and wayward front suspension requires work so is planning to put the entire front sub assembly to do all the work once and for all

March 2010 Social

The Melkbos breakfast run and picnic on the beach was a wonderful venue.  A group of diehards and some new members joined us for a relaxed day, beautiful views and fresh air

24 January 2010

Timour Hall

As usual Timour Hall was well attended.  We are also pleased that we met with several Lancia owners, many of whom have joined the club. (See list on home page).  We really do hope that we will see a greater variation of Lancia's at future get togethers, once restorations and nigglies are sorted out.

12 December 2009

The Club held its final year end function at the Lancia Stable. The event in the form of a picnic and braai saw over 40 members getting together for one of the largest get-togethers in many months. 3 new members arrived to show off their cars as well Dave Lyons with his newly acquired  Delta Integrale 8v.

The next Meeting

5 June 2010 2:30pm.  Garage meeting at Jim's House in Tableview

Fun events are organised every second month to include social gatherings for the entire family in exotic locations with great food, great company and great cars!   We try to get as many Lancia's to these events as possible to show off our passion.

Every other month we host a garage meeting and as the term implies these are held in a members garage, where you will find a willing Lancia Club member ready to get their hands dirty and assist with repairs, technical advice and encouragement. Members are encouraged to bring along parts from their vehicles that need attention.

Events alternate between socials and garage meetings

Garage Meeting

jan qGabby van Oudtshoorn, quickly determining that the timing was out 180 degrees got the HF up and firing.  Then some help with a homemade mercury gauge, saw Chris Pretorius balancing the two carbs to hear  the lively crackle from a very willing 1600 motor. Next step will be to replace the steering idler arm, but I'm not sure whether that can wait until the next meeting.  Phil was up at the barn bright and early, as the original plan was that John Ryall was going to bring his Astura up really early in the hope of getting assistance from the Lancisti in removing the engine and gearbox.  Well, the Astura had refused to start and by the time John arrived at the barn, everyone was heading of home to ensure that they hadn't completely ignored Valentine's Day.  Anyway the Astura is parked in its new temporary home awaiting an engine and gearbox rebuild.  Keep an eye on the Ryall Garage for updates on the progress.

Here are some pics from the Day:

25 January 2009.  Timour Hall

A wonderful turnout in general and especially from the Lancia Club.  we were oversubscribed based on the fact that we were only allowed to exhibit 10 cars, which was difficult enough with the limited space. We exhibited cars through the ages starting with an Astura, and ending with a Kappa.  We also managed to get Reinette and her racing Beta to join us.  It was great to get together with the group and also to have so many old faces drop by to visit us.  Owners of Lancia's who hadn't been to a social for a long time came up and chatted, many new members still preparing their cars also came along for a chat.  I'm certain that our meetings are going to grow substantially this year and that we will very shortly have a large contingent of reliable cars ready to go on exciting outings to explore our beautiful city.

21 September 2008

Social Meeting at Killarney.

A wonderful turnout of members enjoying the great weather, and a fun Lancia day.  The highlight (or stresslight in Phil's case) was when Julian and co-driver Pierre, decided to put Phil's car through its paces on the track.  Encouraged by the fact that they returned it in one piece, Phil and Sheldon took the car around a few times too.  Dion Tromp wasn't to be outdone and he put his series 1 to the test followed shortly thereafter by Riaan in Renata (Only at 3500rpm, still running it in he claimed)

More pics will be posted shortly, including Dion's Victory wave
